Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Last Updated: 29, July, 2025
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) outlines the acceptable and encouraged uses of the services provided by VpsVault.host. We are committed to supporting freedom of expression, open research, and ethical exploration across the internet.
1. Commitment to Freedom of Speech
At VpsVault.host, we respect and uphold the right to free speech. Customers are free to express their views, host content, and share ideas — even if they are controversial or unpopular — as long as they remain within the bounds of applicable law.
We do not censor or moderate content hosted on our infrastructure unless:
-
Required by law or court order
-
It directly violates the rights of others (e.g., doxing, hate crimes, or unlawful threats)
-
It causes harm to the integrity or security of our infrastructure
We believe in an open internet and trust our customers to use their services responsibly.
2. Permitted Technical Activities
We allow technical and security-related operations that many providers restrict:
-
Port Scanning & Network Mapping
Tools like Zmap and Nmap may be used for scanning, research, and mapping — responsibly and with care to avoid disruption. -
Web Crawling & Indexing
Automated crawling and scraping of public websites is permitted, as long as it respects site limitations and doesn’t constitute abuse. -
Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Research
Customers may perform security testing on systems they control or have explicit authorization to test. -
Cybersecurity, Legal & Academic Research
Hosting labs, honeypots, simulations, and lawful data collection projects is welcomed.
3. Boundaries of Acceptable Use
We offer significant flexibility — but with a few necessary boundaries:
-
Illegal content or activity is prohibited
-
Denial-of-Service attacks, abuse of third-party networks, or spreading malware is not tolerated
-
Unauthorized access to external systems remains forbidden
-
We reserve the right to investigate abuse and request clarification when needed
4. Transparency & Fair Handling
We believe in open communication and fair process:
-
Abuse reports are reviewed contextually, especially for activities related to security research
-
Customers will be notified and allowed to respond or clarify before any service restriction
-
We prioritize dialogue over suspension, wherever possible
